John Therien, 10th Dan, is a globally sought-after instructor for seminars, lectures, and martial arts conferences. As the founder of the Therien Jiu Jitsu & Kickboxing Dojo, established in 1968, he led one of Canada's largest and most successful martial arts schools, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018.

With over a thousand certified black belts and more than 3,000 active students in the Can-Ryu system, he has had a lasting impact on the martial arts landscape. As a co-founder of the World Kobudo Federation (WKF), he established an organization represented in over 35 countries with thousands of members.

  • Hanshi Alain Sailly - 9. Dan

Alain was born in 1958 and began practicing judo with his father at the age of 5.
In his childhood, he trained with adults, which was very demanding. As a teenager and in his early twenties, he competed internationally in judo, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo, and full-contact Jiu Jitsu.

A world-class martial artist with movements like no other! Even those with years of martial arts training cannot match the unique combination of skills demonstrated by Alain Sailly, master of Goshindo – the way of self-protection. The best of Aikido, Karate, Judo, Grappling, and Jiu Jitsu come together in unique combinations that enhance flow, coordination, strength, flexibility, and mental calmness.

He holds a degree in Sports Science from the University of Sports in Vichy.
